This painting is the first work in a new series exploring the symbolism of flight and the transitional state experienced during air travel. Airplanes appear within a vast sky, surrounded by large, shifting clouds that emphasize both movement and suspension.

For me, flight represents a moment between destinations a temporary state where the familiar structure of everyday life is paused. During a flight, we exist between places, identities, and experiences. Even a simple journey toward rest or vacation becomes a quiet transition between chapters of life.

The composition focuses on the contrast between the expansive sky and the fragile presence of the airplanes, which appear small against the atmospheric scale of the clouds. Through layered brushwork and acrylic paint mixed directly on the canvas, the surface develops a sense of movement and light. This process allows unexpected color transitions to emerge, echoing the unpredictability and emotional openness of being in transit.

As the opening piece of the series, the painting introduces the idea of the sky as a metaphorical space where transformation begins an in-between moment that reflects both physical travel and inner change.
